Vanity Nightmare at the Movies!

Vanity Nightmare started as a one off collection of images within a zine for a university project.  I created the idea of a magazine featuring one model who would then be transformed in multiple looks, in multiple shoots, inspired by multiple lyrics.  My ideas were never set in stone, I like giving myself the freedom to let my ideas just run, and change things last minute if I wanted.  My first zine was more like a visual diary for me, the lyrics were chosen for an extremely personal reason and the idea of letting someone else model or shoot was just a big no.  This university project then turned into more of a hobby for me.  I get to post makeup looks whenever I want inspired on whatever I want.  It's great, I love it, and I think everyone should give it a try.  I'm not saying create makeup looks, but do whatever you want!  My first blog was all about fashion month.  I'd select my favourite looks from certain shows and display them on my blog.  At first I would just post the images, but then I started writing about them and it became so much more fun!  I'm sounding a little cringe but hey I don't judge people for their hobby's so none of that thank you!

I wrote about fashion shows because they inspired me to aim high, and then little did I know 2 years later I'd actually be at the AW13 Chanel show in Paris.  I never knew the job I do existed and I'm so glad I do because I love it.  I'm very grateful of things that come my way and I can never thank the people who made this possible enough.

This year almost gave me a complete motivation block.  I has just finished Vanity Nightmare 2.0 and I was getting ready to start a new fashion season.  During this I knew I had to create more makeup looks and once the season was over I tried to create some.  I felt like I was under presser to start posting again and I didn't want to.  I wasn't ready and I started to hate makeup completely.  I then realised I needed to post for people, and not for me.  This just doesn't work, at least for me.  These images are my own project, I have always done them for my benefit and I have aimed my blog posts at others for their benefit.  Sometimes you just need a slap!

Vanity Nightmare at the Movies is my new collection of images inspired by 20 different movies.  Some movies I haven't seen and others I watched during applying my makeup for that movie.  Many of my ideas come from my idea of the films.  It's like not researching what a celebrity wears when dressing up for a fancy dress party.

Today i finished editing my last image and I am literally about to explode, I want to share these with people straight away!  Some people will be interested, others won't, but hopefully some people like them because I had so much fun doing them!  I have no idea how music artists can wait so long to release their music... No wonder Lady Gaga pushes up her resale dates!
